Berlin (dpa) - After weeks of delay, the payment of the regular December aid for companies in the Corona crisis can now start.
The technical prerequisites for this are in place, as the Ministry of Economic Affairs announced.
The payouts by the countries could begin immediately.
Installments had already been made since the beginning of January, so companies could get an advance on the later payment.
In addition, the so-called November aid was last paid to the companies.
The advance payments for December, which flow from the federal treasury, have been heavily used, said the ministry.
More than 1.56 billion euros have already been transferred.
In the course of the November and December aid together, more than 4.35 billion euros have been paid so far.

The December aid is aimed at companies, the self-employed and also associations that were particularly hard hit by the closings in December.
You can receive grants of up to 75 percent of December 2019 sales.
The federal government provides the funds for aid.
The federal states are responsible for processing, checking and paying out applications.
According to the Ministry of Economics, the federal government has approved around 80 billion euros in aid for the economy since the beginning of the Corona crisis.
