Erfurt (dpa / th) - In the first year of the corona pandemic, the Thuringian consumer center advised more people than it has for years.

The number of consultations had almost doubled in 2020 compared to 2019 to almost 10,000, said managing director Ralph Walther of the German press agency.

Last year was the most intensive advice since 2013.

The advice of consumer advocates was mainly asked about canceled trips, closed gyms and similar leisure activities.

However, there was also an increase in inquiries about cell phone and landline contracts, which is related to online learning at home and working in the home office.

This has led to higher telephone costs for many consumers.
