Geretsried (dpa / lby) - In a nursing home in Geretsried in Upper Bavaria, around 100 people have been infected with the corona virus since mid-January.

Around half of them - 51 - had already received a first dose of vaccine before the virus was detected in them, as the Bad Tölz-Wolfratshausen district office announced on Monday.

One of the infected was vaccinated for the second time.

He had received the second dose seven days before the virus was detected.

It is assumed that the vaccine will be fully effective 14 days after the second vaccination, explained the district office.

Three quarters of those infected are residents, two of whom died.

In the meantime, 27 residents and ten employees have been released from isolation, they are considered recovered.

The first infections occurred in the second week of January, and the number of people infected has risen steadily since then.

No mutant was detected.

Since some residents in the facility are physically very mobile, the greatest challenge lies in separating people who have tested positive and contact persons.

For this, the facility was strictly separated into pandemic and quarantine zones.

The first two positive tests concerned the staff and a resident.

Who brought the virus into the facility remained unclear.

More than 70 percent of all residents have now received their first vaccination.

The staff has already been completely vaccinated.

For reasons of data protection, the district office did not disclose which facility is affected and how many people live and work there in total.
