Sleep Junkie, an American company specializing in mattress rating, is looking for a paid tester to try the products and give their opinion.

“Get money for sleeping,” the company offered on its website.

The chosen candidate, nicknamed "The Sleeping Beauty of the Real World", will be offered 3,000 dollars (approximately 2,480 euros) for two months of homework, says Sleep Junkie.

During this period, the telecommuter will receive three different referrals of mattresses to be tested, CNN says.

He will also be able to keep his favorite model, worth up to $ 1,500 (€ 1,240).

This person will be "paid to sleep at his workplace", promised the future employer.

The deliveries and withdrawals of the mattresses will be done in compliance with barrier gestures.

Lack of sleep, a consequence of Covid-19?

The company says, however, that for security reasons, vulnerable people are advised not to apply.

To land this dream job, it is better to have a space to easily deliver the mattresses, sleep alone and be equipped with good writing skills to write the evaluations.

These should, among other things, evoke the quality of sleep experienced and the degree of comfort of each product.

To be a candidate, you must complete an online form.

“Please briefly explain to us why you think you are a great Sleeping Beauty, such as your passion for sleep or your past editorial experiences,” asks Sleep Junkie.

The company decided to proceed with this recruitment after studying statistics deemed worrying.

Internal company data has indeed shown a steady rise over 12 months in online searches for sleep deprivation.

At the end of 2020, they even reached their highest level for five years.

Sleep Junkie sees it as a consequence of the Covid-19 pandemic.
