"The identity of the man was established, he was detained": in Omsk investigate the case of torture of children

On January 31, a shocking video of child abuse appeared on the Internet.

The video, posted on one of the social networks, showed a man who lifted a little boy and girl high and then threw them forcefully on the floor.

Almost immediately after the publication of the video, the investigative bodies of the Investigative Committee of Russia in the Omsk Region opened a criminal case under Part 2 of Art.

117 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (torture of minors), and a few hours later the suspect was arrested.

As follows from the official message of the department, it took the investigators only two hours to establish the identity of the attacker.

It turned out to be a previously convicted 45-year-old resident of Omsk Eduard Yunusov.

The video with child abuse was filmed by his wife.

Larisa Boldinova, senior assistant to the head of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Omsk Region for interaction with the media, told RT that while Eduard Yunusov is the only suspect, and his wife is being held as a witness.

“Whether she becomes accused depends on the results of the investigation.

The children are now in the hospital for a routine examination with their mother.

Currently, they are being questioned by an investigator, ”she told RT.

Boldinova clarified that the suspect is raising three children, but he is family only for two, the eldest girl was born from another man.

The one-year-old child, whom the mother held in her arms when filming the sensational video, remained behind the scenes. 

The department also noted that during the interrogation, the suspect confessed to what he had done, and they intend to choose a preventive measure in the form of detention.

Now Eduard Yunusov is in jail, for torturing children he faces from three to seven

years of imprisonment.

In turn, the children's ombudsman Anna Kuznetsova said that the health of an eight-year-old girl and a five-year-old boy is out of danger.

“I met a terrible video on social networks where a man throws children on the floor.

We immediately contacted a colleague in the region.

Investigators connected instantly.

Now the identity of the man has been established, he is detained, a criminal case has been opened, the children are out of danger.

Mocked for educational purposes

According to local media reports, Eduard Yunusov told investigators that he regrets and considers himself a "bad person."

According to him, he threw children on the floor "for educational purposes" because they behaved badly and were capricious. 

As it turned out, some acquaintances considered the Yunusov family to be exemplary.

In turn, another friend of Alena Yunusova said that, most likely, the case captured on video was not the only one.

According to her, the mother is a "nice girl" who "is insanely difficult to get away from the abuser."

She was afraid to complain about her husband to the police, and her acquaintances made the video public.

The woman claims that she takes the children to the same kindergarten as the Yunusovs, and said that she saw on children

bruises and abrasions, but the administration of the institution did not intervene in the situation.

According to the lawyer Ramil Gizatullin, there is no doubt about Edward's guilt.

It is very hard to believe that a normal, mentally healthy person would be capable of this, ”the lawyer said.

In turn, the suspect's wife said that her husband had allegedly never raised a hand against the children before, noting that she herself did not approve of corporal punishment either.

According to media reports, the woman fears that the children will be taken away from the family.
