Cologne (dpa) - Double redemption at Marius Wolf and 1. FC Cologne: With his first Bundesliga goals in almost 500 days, Borussia Dortmund's loan from Borussia Dortmund gave FC its first home win in almost a year and the jump out of the relegation zone.

In the 3: 1 (2: 0) in the basement duel against newly promoted Arminia Bielefeld, the 25-year-old professional footballer scored the first two goals (9th / 28th).

Elvis Rexhbecaj increased (62nd) later, Joker Sergio Cordova (73rd) could only shorten.

Cologne gave up relegation place 16 to East Westphalia and improved to 14th place ahead of Hertha BSC. Bielefeld, however, still have seven points ahead of Mainz in the first relegation place.

Until Sunday, FC had been without a win in 14 home games since February 29, 2020 (3-0 against Schalke).

For FC it was also a successful dress rehearsal for the cup game at second division Jahn Regensburg, in which the Cologne team are fighting for their first quarter-finals in eleven years.

Arminia was eliminated in the first round at the regional division Essen.

Ex-national player Max Meyer only made a short Bundesliga comeback with Cologne five days after his engagement and was substituted on in the 90th minute.

The second new signing during the week, Emmanuel Dennis from Club Bruges, was in the starting line-up and made a mixed debut.

Bielefeld's Japanese Masaya Okugawa from Red Bull Salzburg, who was signed on Sunday, was not yet in the squad.

The feared by some 0-0 in the duel of two of the three weakest offensives in the league was done after eight minutes and the first goal action.

The header from Cologne's Ellyes Skhiri after a cross from Ondrej Duda was the first shot on goal, Stefan Ortega parried it with his fingertips - but Wolf pushed the rebound over the line.

That was good for the hard-fought game, but the weaknesses of both teams were evident when playing with the ball.

Bielefeld's first chance also resulted from a standard, when Sven Schipplock, who had moved into the team for Sergio Cordova, came to the header completely free after Ritsu Doan's free kick and Timo Horn parried brilliantly with a fist (22nd).

Cologne, on the other hand, also took its second chance ice cold.

And again it was Wolf, who had previously scored 498 days ago, on September 21, 2019 for Hertha BSC against Paderborn.

After a cross from Ismail Jakobs, Joakim Nilsson headed the ball away - and Wolf used the second chance from the edge of the penalty area.

Immediately after the break, Arminia cheered the supposed connection goal, but the ball jumped to the hand of Fabian Klos before Doan's shot (52nd).

Bielefeld coach Uwe Neuhaus brought in two fresh offensive forces after an hour with Cebio Soukou and Sergio Cordova, but 36 seconds later it was 3-0 and the game was decided.

Arminia didn't manage much more than the Cordova hit after Klos template - Cebio Soukou only hit the post shortly before the end (89th).
