Protesters briefly disrupted work at the Corona virus vaccination center at the Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, one of the largest vaccination centers in the United States, while the Pentagon announced the suspension of a plan to give Guantanamo detainees vaccines against Covid-19.

In social media posts, dozens of people gathered in front of the entrance to the vaccination center in the Dodger Stadium, holding banners calling for an end to the closures and promoting anti-vaccination conspiracy theories.

US media quoted fire department officials as saying that officials had closed the site for about an hour, although the Los Angeles Police Department later insisted that the site had not been closed and that all vaccines would be distributed.

The Los Angeles area, which witnessed a spike in the number of cases of "Covid-19" in the winter, is currently vaccinating front-line medical workers and people over the age of 65.

Even members of these groups face great difficulties in getting appointments to get a vaccine, given the small number of available doses of the "Pfizer / Biontech" and "Moderna" vaccines.

The Pentagon announced the suspension of a plan to give "Guantanamo" detainees vaccines against "Covid-19", after its announcement sparked a wave of discontent, while the United States is struggling to deliver vaccines to health workers on the front lines and elderly Americans.

"The vaccine was not given to any detainee at Guantanamo," Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said in a tweet on Twitter.

The naval base in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba contains detainees from the "US war on terror", including prominent figures in the "Al Qaeda" organization.
