A former Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly member supported by Governor Koike won the election for the mayor of Chiyoda Ward, Tokyo, which was held in July ahead of the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election.

In this election for Mayor of Chiyoda, the incumbent Mayor Masami Ishikawa, who had served for five terms, did not run for the election and was a battle between four newcomers.

With the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election coming up in July, the local political party "Tomin First no Kai" recommended former Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly member Takaaki Higuchi, and Governor Koike also supported him.

I also supported the Democratic Party for the People.

On the other hand, the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party recommended former ward council members and engaged in organized warfare, and the Nippon Ishin no Kai recommended printing company officers.

As a result, Mr. Higuchi, who was supported by Governor Koike, won the election for the first time, overcoming the nomination candidates of both the Liberal Democratic Party and the Komeito Party.

Mr. Higuchi is 38 years old.

I was elected for the first time in the Tokyo Metropolitan Assembly election four years ago, and this time I challenged the ward mayor election for the first time.
