Pforzheim (dpa / lsw) - Opponents of the corona restrictions demonstrated in Pforzheim on Sunday with around 1000 vehicles.

A police officer was injured while trying to control a vehicle, the police said in the evening.

A banner is said to have been held out of the vehicle "in a dangerous manner".

The 59-year-old driver is said to have insulted the officers.

The police officer was reportedly talking to the passenger with the passenger door open when the driver suddenly reversed his car.

The open door caught the officer who was injured and taken to the hospital.

The 59-year-old tried to flee, according to police, but was stopped and arrested.

The motorcade had been registered with the city under the title “Entrepreneurs and citizens show their faces”.

According to a police spokeswoman, the participants mainly included critics of corona restrictions.

During the car parade, there were significant traffic obstructions in the city.
