Hanover (dpa / lni) - Two men were injured in a knife attack in Hanover, one of them life-threatening.

As a police spokesman announced on Sunday, a 30-year-old man and his partner freed a car in the List district when the attacker stabbed him.

A 59-year-old passer-by rushed to the couple's aid, but was also attacked and injured.

The victim's wife was unharmed.

The alleged perpetrator fled but was arrested by the police.

The man is being investigated for dangerous bodily harm.

The background and details of the attack were initially unknown.
