Wolfsburg (dpa / bb) - The Eisbären Berlin have to wait for their second away win in the current season of the German Ice Hockey League (DEL).

On Sunday, the capital city lost at the Grizzly Wolfsburg 4: 6 (0: 3, 1: 1, 3: 2).

Goals from Leonhard Pföderl, Jonas Müller, Ryan McKiernan and Giovanni Fiore weren't enough for the Berliners because they had made too many mistakes in the early stages.

In front of empty stands in the Wolfsburg ice arena, the hosts took the lead after a disagreement in the Berlin back line through Pekka Jormakka.

Even when they were outnumbered, the guests acted unhappy: Again Jormakka and Anthony Rech used the first two power plays of the Lower Saxony for further hits.

In view of the clear residue, the capital city increased the pressure in the second third and were able to shorten it with Pföderl.

Sebastian Furchner from Wolfsburg, however, restored the old gap shortly afterwards with another overpayment goal.

In the final section, Müller brought the polar bears up again, but Spencer Machacek in the power play and Max Görtz answered for the hosts.

The Berlin overpaid goals by McKiernan and Fiore came too late to turn the game around.
