For his comeback, pole vault world record holder Armand Duplantis managed 6.01 m to win the competition in the indoor meeting in Düsseldorf (Germany) on Sunday.

The Swedish vice-world champion in reign validated this bar on the second try, best world performance of the season, before tackling unsuccessfully the world record at 6.19 m.

Duplantis set off once against the record without managing to jump before definitively stopping his competition.

21-year-old "Mondo" Duplantis has held the pole vault world record since last year, which he raised to 6.17 and 6.18 m after an exceptional winter season.

The German Torben Blech took second place in the competition (5.86 m, personal best) ahead of the two-time American world champion Sam Kendricks (5.81 m).

Briton Dina Asher-Smith confirmed her good form by dominating the 60m in 7 sec 12, ahead of Swiss Ajla Del Ponte (7.16, personal best).
