Palmeiras scored with a header in the ninth minute of stoppage time by Breno Lopez, winning 1-0 over Santos and winning the Copa Libertadores soccer title on Saturday night.

The final in South America, the equivalent of the Champions League final, was held under the strong sun in Rio de Janeiro, and there were few chances before the only goal of the match came.

It looked like the match would go towards extra time, but Lopez went up to a cross from the right and put his head into the net.
