The Jordanian Monarch, King Abdullah II stressed the need to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, "which meets all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people."

King Abdullah said in statements to the Jordan News Agency (Petra), published yesterday: “It is not possible for our region and the world to achieve the security, stability and peace we seek without reaching a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue that meets all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people on the basis of the two-state solution, which guarantees the establishment of An independent, sovereign and viable Palestinian state, on the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, to live in peace and security alongside Israel, in accordance with international law, the approved references and the Arab Peace Initiative.

The king added, "The Palestinian issue for Jordan is the first central issue, and we continue to stand with all our energies and capabilities by our Palestinian brothers in their efforts to obtain their just rights, and we are in constant communication and coordination with them."

He stressed the continuation of his country's "uninterrupted efforts to activate the peace process and ensure that it reaches the two-state solution, the only way to achieve a just, lasting and comprehensive peace."

King Abdullah II affirmed that his country would continue "to assume the responsibility of protecting and caring for Islamic and Christian holy sites in Al-Quds Al-Sharif."

The Jordanian monarch expressed his pride in the relations with all Arab brothers, stressing that his country would continue to stand by them and support them in all circumstances. He indicated that Jordan "was built on the principles of Arabism and working towards the unity of the Arab ranks, and this is his approach."

He also called for the need to consider the laws regulating political life in his country, such as elections, parties, and local administration, and the continuous pursuit of the process of political development, stressing that the goal for many years has been "to reach a solid, programmatic party life."
