Berlin (dpa / bb) - The number of corona infections in Berlin has decreased slightly.

On Saturday, the seven-day incidence - the number of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants and week - reached 86.4 according to the Senate Department for Health, after 90.9 the day before.

The Berlin Corona traffic light for this criterion is still red, as can be seen from the management report.

The target is less than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days.

The lowest incidence was recorded in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf with a value of 72.5, the highest in Mitte (104.5).

The traffic light is also red for the occupancy rate in the intensive care beds. Here, the rate of 28.7 percent is only slightly below the value of the previous day (29.7).

The traffic light is still green for the reproduction number (R value).

The 4-day R-value on Saturday was 0.86 (Friday: 0.75).

It describes how many people an infected person infects on average.

According to experts, in order to slow the pandemic, this value has to be significantly less than 1.
