Rostock (dpa / mv) - The Federal Ministry of Economics will support the Mittelstand 4.0 competence center in Rostock with more than three million euros over the next two years.

The center is part of the Germany-wide Mittelstand Digital project, the ministry provides the money for free use of all offers, said project manager Silvia Rydlewicz.

The center's experts support small and medium-sized enterprises from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, such as medical practices, tourist facilities or production companies, in all areas of digitization.

Rydlewicz said that more than 20 companies and self-employed have used this free service since the center was founded in October 2017.

Experts from Rostock University Medicine, the Institute for Implant Technology and Biomaterials in Warnemünde and Stralsund University work in the center.
