Weißenfels (dpa) - The basketball players from Syntainincs MBC have missed the possible jump to a playoff place.

The Weißenfelser lost their home game against SSV ratiopharm Ulm on Saturday evening with 92: 104 (52:51).

With their ninth defeat of the season, the protégés of coach Silvano Poropat fell from ninth to eleventh place and are only four plus points ahead of the first relegation place.

Dylan Osetkowski (25) and the German national player Andreas Obst (21) from Halle had the greatest share in Ulm's success.

David Brembly (22) and Aleksandar Marelja (18) scored the most points for the MBC.

After a failed first quarter (26:34), the home side fought their way back into the game with a 12-0 run to 38:24 (13th).

But in the third quarter the Weißenfels broke in.

Ulm set the course for victory within two minutes with a 9-0 run from 60:62 (23rd) to 69:62 and pulled away to 85:69 (29th).

The guests benefited above all from their superiority under the boards (36:25 rebounds) and their accuracy from beyond the triple line.

From 21 attempts, eleven ended up in the basket of the MBC.
