Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - The first Bundesliga game of the Rhein-Neckar Löwen after the handball World Cup in Egypt, which will end on Sunday, is postponed.

As the Baden announced on Saturday, the league complied with a request from the two-time German champions to make up for the game planned for February 7 at MT Melsungen at a later date.

A new date has not yet been set.

In Andreas Palicka, Albin Lagergren (both Sweden) and Romain Lagarde (France), the Lions provided three players at the World Cup who have at least reached the semi-finals.

The trio is not expected back in Germany until the beginning of next week and will then have to go into quarantine for several days, the club said.

The Lions will therefore miss the three national players in the European Cup against the Kadetten Schaffhausen on February 2nd and 3rd.
