Munich (dpa) - Coach Hansi Flick from FC Bayern Munich has confirmed that national soccer players Leon Goretzka and Javi Martínez are not seriously ill after positive corona tests.
"It's the case that both have no symptoms, I also spoke to both of them," said Flick on Saturday after the 4-1 (2-1) against TSG 1899 Hoffenheim.
The day before the Bundesliga game, the club made the positive test results public.
According to the association, Goretzka and Martínez are in quarantine at home.
«Corona is like football.
A single contact is enough to turn everything upside down, "tweeted Goretzka:" I kept to the Corona rules at all times.
Still, I tested positive. "
The two Bayern professionals are threatened to be canceled for the league game next Friday at Hertha BSC and the subsequent Club World Cup.
Munich will play their first game in the semi-finals on February 8th as Champions League winners at the tournament in Qatar.
Three days later, the final and the game for third place are on the program.
