Munich (dpa / lby) - There is still a considerable risk of avalanches in the Bavarian Alps.
Above 1,600 meters, the main danger of drifting snow, said the Avalanche Warning Service Bavaria.
The weight of a single skier can trigger so-called snow boards.
The avalanche warning level on Saturday was therefore 3 out of 5.
On steep slopes, avalanches up to the middle elevations could resolve themselves due to the rain in the Alps.
In the past few days, it had rained widespread in the Free State, for high altitudes in the Allgäu Alps, the German Weather Service (DWD) had warned of heavy rain and thaw.
The Allgäu mountain rescue advised on Saturday in the Bavarian radio because of the avalanche danger from ski tours and snow hikes.
A relaxation of the situation is only in sight from next Wednesday due to further rainfall, it said.

For Sunday, the DWD expects mostly rain near the Alps, in parts of southern Bavaria some snow may fall.
In Franconia and the Upper Palatinate region, the sun is shining.
With maximum values of minus 2 to plus 4 degrees, it will initially be colder in the Free State.
According to the meteorologists, temperatures will rise again at the start of the new week.
