Herrsching (dpa) - Bundesliga volleyball team Netzhoppers KW-Bestensee has suffered a setback in the fight for the playoff places.

At the Volleys Herrsching, the cup finalist from Brandenburg lost 0: 3 (23:25, 19:25, 18:25) on Saturday evening and remained ninth in the table.

In the Ammersee Arena, however, the guests had to cope with the handicap that they lacked their currently best player in Byron Keturakis.

The Canadian setter was not operational due to back problems.

Instead of Keturakis, the only 19-year-old Adrian Klooss directed the guests.

The native of Königs Wusterhausen did his job quite well, but the lack of match practice was clearly evident in some situations.

After a confused start on both sides, the Netzhoppers were already 20:18 in the lead in the first round after a mistake by Herrschingers Dorde Ilic, but lost this lead.

Even two breaks in crunchtime by their coach Christophe Acht could not prevent the loss of the set.

With the Netzhoppers, the uncertainty increased.

The team faltered in the assumption that the block positioned itself on the net a few times.

As a result, Herrschinger, who were by no means convincing, had little trouble to return the favor for their 3-2 defeat by Brandenburg in the cup semi-finals on December 10th.
