A man in his 65s is found dead with stab wounds in an apartment in Slottstaden.

A 60-year-old man was arrested shortly afterwards on suspicion of murder.

The same man has been sentenced to 5 years in prison by the Court of Appeal for aggravated assault and aggravated causing another person's death.

This is the only murder from 2020 that has been solved.

- It is a murder that has the character of a conflict between people in drug circles, says Mattias Sigfridsson, deputy head of the Malmö police area.

The victim and the perpetrator had at the time of the murder hung out in the now convicted man's apartment.

Both must have been heavily under the influence of alcohol, according to the ruling from Malmö District Court.

A 25-year-old man dies after a shooting on Holma square.

A suspect in his 20s was arrested at his home the same evening.

Another man of the same age who is also suspected of the murder leaves the country but is arrested in Poland three days later.

According to police, the victim and the suspects have some type of relationship.

- These are people who are at least familiar with each other, says Mattias Sigfridsson.

The men are currently in custody, and on January 26, they were charged with having committed the murder together.

A man in his 20s dies in a shooting on Västra Hindbyvägen.

The next day, the police say that the victim

"is part of the criminal environment where there are currently a number of conflicts

."

At present, there is no suspect or detainee for the murder.

- Our image is that there are people who know more but who have not told us, says Mattias Sigfridsson.

November 3, 2020: stabbing, Sofielund

A 17-year-old boy is found stabbed on Idunsgatan in Södra Sofielund during the night.

He later died of his injuries.

- It is a conflict that arises in connection with an event between young people.

It is not linked to any ongoing conflict in criminal environments, says Mattias Sigfridsson about the incident.

The suspicions are directed at a 25-year-old man who was arrested the day after the murder in his absence.

The same man is still in custody on suspicion of murder, and three other men are in custody on suspicion of aiding and abetting murder.

The police believe in a solution to the case in 2021.

- We hope that we can complete it in the spring, that the prosecutor can bring charges and that there will be a trial, says Mattias Sigfridsson.

31 December 2020: fatal shooting, Rosengård

On New Year's Eve, a man in his 25s is found with gunshot wounds outdoors on Von Rosen's road.

Two hours later, the police announce that the man has died from his injuries.

At present, there is no suspect or detainee for the murder.

- We know that he had a connection to the vulnerable area and the problems that exist there, says Mattias Sigfridsson.
