Portuguese parliament approves bill to legalize euthanasia

It is noted that 136 people voted for the bill, 78 against, and four abstained.

An adult citizen of Portugal or a person with a residence permit in the country can request euthanasia.

It clarifies that the request can be made by "a patient with terminal disease or suffering from unbearable pain."

Now the bill must be approved by the President of the country, Marcelo Rebelo di Sousa. 

In October 2019, the ex-head of the Russian Ministry of Health, Veronika Skvortsova, said that the issue of allowing euthanasia in Russia should be decided by the country's residents.
