Stuttgart (AP) - FSV Mainz 05 was unable to make up any further ground in the relegation battle of the Bundesliga.
The table penultimate lost a week after the surprising 3: 2 against RB Leipzig on Friday 0: 2 (0: 0) at VfB Stuttgart.
After 19 games this season, Mainz still only have ten points on their account.
In contrast, after three games without a win, VfB are now in tenth place in the table with 25 points.
Sasa Kalajdzic headed the Stuttgart lead in the 55th minute, while Silas Wamangituka made the first VfB home win of the season perfect in the 72nd minute.
