January 29, 2021 Donald Trump makes peace with Kevin McCarthy and promises he will "help the Republican party become the majority in the House" by winning the midterm elections.

This is what the former president's office said, referring to the "excellent and cordial" meeting that Trump had with the leader of the Republican minority in the House who yesterday visited him in Mar-a-Lago in Florida.

The communiqué does not lack a reference to the previous elections, and underlines that Trump and McCarthy "worked very well together in the last elections and won at least 15 seats when many predicted the opposite, and will continue to do so".

Flew to Florida to return to the good graces of the former president, after he declared in the days following the assault on Congress that Trump had some responsibility for what happened, McCarthy with a statement underlined the importance of having "a united conservative movement "which" will strengthen ties with our citizens and maintain the freedoms on which our country is founded ".
