Beaten in the semi-final by Sweden (32-26), the French men's handball team will face Spain, which lost in the semi-finals against Denmark (35-33) on Friday evening, to go for the medal bronze, Sunday in Cairo.

The French have climbed on eight of the last ten podiums of a World Championship (in gold in 2001, 2009, 2011, 2015, 2017, and in bronze in 2003, 2005 and 2019), and will face the double European champions headline (2018, 2020) Sunday afternoon (2:30 p.m.) in the Egyptian capital.

The final (Sunday, 5.30 p.m.) will be 100% Scandinavian, between the Danes holding the world (2019) and Olympic (2016) titles, and the Swedes who find the last match of a World Cup for the first time since the defeat in 2001 at Paris-Bercy against France.
