On the third and final day of consultations, the M5s asked for a new Conte government to be formed.

"We have given a willingness to discuss with those who intend to give answers to the country with a political government that starts from the majority forces that have worked this last year and a half", said the political leader of the M5S, Vito Crimi, at the end of the consultations with the President of the Republic, Sergio Mattarella.

"The country cannot wait and it is not acceptable to waste time. Italy must have a government in the shortest possible time and that can take all useful and necessary measures", added Crimi.

"It is not the time for vetoes, it is time to take a step forward all together and quickly. We are willing to discuss with those who intend to give concrete answers in the interest of the country. A political government that starts from majority forces that worked together, with a clear legislative pact before the citizens ".

The 5

stars have indicated Giuseppe Conte as the leader of this government. 

Previously, the center-right renewed the call for early elections.

"The health, economic and social crisis requires a rapid solution to the crisis," said the leader of the League, Salvini, speaking for the entire delegation.

"Excluding the possibility of support for the same majority that has been holding the country hostage for weeks and would be even weaker if held up by individual turncoats."

added Salvini.

"The center-right confirmed to the President of the Republic full willingness to collaborate for all the measures necessary to safeguard the interests of Italians - as has been done up to now and often decisively - starting from an effective use of the Recovery funds, from the plan vaccines up to refreshments and reimbursements for families and businesses ". 

All the members of the center-right delegation "have reserved, in the event of elections not being held, to evaluate with the utmost respect any decision that is constitutionally up to the Head of State following the outcome of the ongoing consultations", concluded Salvini.

The leader of IV, Matteo Renzi yesterday opened to an exploratory mandate, but from a different personality from Giuseppe Conte.

While the secretary of the Democratic Party Nicola Zingaretti reaffirmed support for the outgoing premier.

In the morning Conte participates in the inauguration of the judicial year of the Cassation, together with President Mattarella and the presidents of the Chambers.

"The political forces must say whether Iv is considered reliable and an integral part of the coalition", Teresa Bellanova reiterated this morning, yesterday at the Quirinale with Renzi.

The governor of Emilia Romagna Stefano Bonaccini pushes for an overcoming of tensions: "The numbers in Parliament tell us that if you do not put together an alliance that starts from what is there, you risk having the Ciampolillo on duty who condemns you every day to an infinite pain and you are no longer able to govern ".

After two days of consultations, therefore, neither a majority nor a name has yet materialized and therefore the conversation between President Mattarella and the delegation of the first parliamentary force of this legislature, namely the Five Stars, is fundamental.

This is the worried budget of the Quirinale but it is still too early to sum up a situation that remains very complicated and that brings back the specter of the dissolution of the Chambers. 

Renzi does not mention the name of Conte, at least not before a clarification by the majority forces on the role of Italia Viva in the coalition, in the meantime he has effectively frozen Conte ter by first asking for an exploratory assignment to a third personality to verify if there are conditions to overcome the crisis.

So the president will have to understand the position of the Movement on Renzi and if there was a "never with Italia Viva" on the part of M5s, it would be clear that there is neither a name nor a majority and this phase would be closed with implications to be verified. .

If, on the other hand, there was an opening towards the Renzians, then the president could foresee a second temporal opening, with an exploratory assignment for which - according to parliamentary rumors - the President of the Chamber Roberto Fico would be in pole.

The Quirinale is very clear that first we still need to find a majority and only with today's consultation with the Movement will we have this certainty.

The opening of the Five Stars to Renzi is therefore decisive, since obviously the Colle does not consider the numbers found by Conte at the time of his resignation sufficient, that is, without the Renzian parliamentarians.

Lacking the name of the premier, after the freezing of Italia Viva su Conte, an exploratory can be attempted.

And in this case the head of state would give some time because there is no risk of sending the country to vote for not having the situation decanted.  

It is a game of chess because the Democratic Party, while not hiding the irritation towards the senator of Rignano, keeps the tone low, does not fall into provocations and even the 5-star Movement could avoid vetoing Italy alive, even to try to bring the Renzians to their side.

At the moment, however, the numbers for a 'Conte ter' are not there.

The Democratic Party and the 5-Star Movement should guarantee a majority pact to discuss the program and composition of the executive with Renzi, but the road is getting narrower.
