Two days before the murder of a Pôle Emploi advisor and a HRD in Drôme and Ardèche, Bertrand, himself director of human resources, received a visit from a man who attempted to assassinate him.

He tells the microphone of Europe 1 this evening when death almost won.

TESTIMONY

Bertrand is a miracle.

This professional HRD almost died by firearm on the doorstep of his home, near Mulhouse.

An assassination attempt that took place on Tuesday, just a few hours before the murder of another HRD in Alsace.

Main suspect of this homicide, an unemployed engineer who killed two women Thursday in Drôme and Ardèche, a Pôle Emploi advisor and a HRD.

And it is possible that Bertrand should have been the fourth victim of the 45-year-old man now in custody after his murderous journey.

At the microphone of Europe 1, Bertrand recounts the moment when he narrowly avoided death.

"A gun" under a pizza box

"I am at home working, the doorbell rings and I am going to open it", says the HRD.

He then finds himself in front of a man with a masked face, "as is done in times of Covid", who is holding a "pizza box".

Suddenly a gunshot sounds, but Bertrand is not hit.

"Obviously there was a pistol underneath."

Unable to fire again, for some unknown reason, the man runs away.

"I told myself that I was going to catch up with him and tackle him to the ground just to control him. But a fight breaks out and he manages to escape me", continues the HRD.

After a few seconds to come to his senses, Bertrand again sets off in pursuit of his attacker.

But the latter had time to rally his car and lock himself in.

"I was in socks, I couldn't hold it back."

An assault that takes place a few hours before the murder of a HRD

This attack took place on the same evening as the murder of a HRD living near Colmar, an acquaintance of Bertrand.

"We were former colleagues and still in touch," he confirms.

An assassination that will precede that of another director of human resources, this time near Valence, on the morning of Thursday.

Disturbing similarities in a small geographic area that raise questions for investigators.

"We are tempted to make the link," admits Bertrand.

But "I think we have to wait for the investigation to advance further."
