China News Service, Beijing, January 28 (Reporter Zhang Su) The Supreme People's Procuratorate of China arrested Wang Yong, the former party member and vice chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, on suspicion of accepting bribes.

  Public information shows that Wang Yong was born in February 1957 in Yanggu, Shandong, with a postgraduate degree from the Party School of the Central Committee, a master's degree in business administration for senior managers, a senior political engineer, former director of the Hainan Provincial Department of Communications, deputy secretary of the Sanya Municipal Party Committee, acting as the city Mayor, Mayor, Head of the United Front Work Department of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee, etc.

Since 2016, Wang Yong has served as Vice Chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference.

  In July 2020, Wang Yong was officially notified that he was suspected of serious violations of discipline and law, and he was under review and investigation.

On January 11 this year, the website of the National Supervision Commission of the Central Commission for Discipline Inspection announced that Wang Yong was expelled from the party and public office for serious violations of discipline and law.

He was accused of promoting reclamation projects in violation of regulations and causing serious consequences, using the influence of his position to help his family to contract insurance business, engaging in power and sex transactions, and intervening in judicial activities.
