"Tomorrow, 20 + 20 thousand of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine will arrive from Russia ... Thank them for that, thank you for every vaccine they sent us," TASS quotes him.

At the same time, Vucic added that Serbia is negotiating with other countries, as it needs even more vaccines.

“You get 40 thousand, but you need 400 thousand. Now there are 750 thousand people on the vaccination list, and the real need is to vaccinate 3.5 million, but we will fight for each vaccine,” he stressed.

According to him, Serbia has signed contracts for the supply of 6.5 million doses of vaccines against coronavirus, but so far it cannot receive them in full due to problems with the lack of production capacity of manufacturers.

Earlier, Serbia and Russia began negotiations on the production of Sputnik V.

The Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) has signed an agreement with the Serbian government to supply 2 million doses of Sputnik V to the country, which will make it possible to vaccinate 1 million people.

1 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine from the Chinese pharmaceutical company Sinopharm and more than 18 thousand doses of the vaccine from the American pharmaceutical corporation Pfizer were delivered to Serbia.
