Halle (dpa / sa) - The demand for telephone counseling services in Saxony-Anhalt rose sharply at times last year due to the corona pandemic.

In Halle there were about 40 percent more calls during the first lockdown, said the head of the telephone counseling there, Dorothee Herfurth-Rogge.

After a decline in summer, demand has increased again since autumn - but not as strongly as at the beginning of the pandemic.

Telephone counseling in Magdeburg also recorded more calls in 2020.

Younger people in particular have taken advantage of chat or email advice more than before, said the head of the state capital, Anette Carstens.
