Hanover (dpa / lni) - Despite the uncertain situation during the corona pandemic, premature end of the season in Lower Saxony's amateur football is not an issue.

"The decisions of the game year 20/21 should be made across Lower Saxony in all performance and age groups, if possible on the sporty path within the remaining period up to June 30," said the Lower Saxony Football Association (NFV) on Thursday evening after a board meeting.

According to this, "a season extension beyond June 30th - up to the beginning of the summer vacation - could be decided."

When training and match operations can be resumed, however, cannot yet be foreseen and will depend on the further course of the corona crisis.

"As soon as the state of Lower Saxony approves contact sports in the strength of a team, the teams will be given a preparation time - with the ball - of at least two weeks before the competitive game continues," said the NFV.
