Frankfurt / Main (dpa / lhe) - Because he wanted to transport around 6.5 kilograms of cocaine from Colombia to Amsterdam, a DJ was sentenced by the Frankfurt Regional Court to four years and eleven months in prison.

In exchange for a courier fee and debt relief totaling 10,000 euros, the 44-year-old was convinced by the court to take over the contract in August of last year.

He testified in court that practically all income from his work had lost due to the Corona crisis.

Before the outbreak of the pandemic, he was a sought-after artist in discos in South America (Ref .: 5150 Js 235717/20).

The criminal chamber evaluated the confession on Thursday as mitigating the sentence, but still imposed a prison sentence of several years due to the large amount of narcotics that was incorporated into the double bottoms of two suitcases.

The judgment is not final.

The prosecution had requested six and a half years in prison.
