Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - The seven-day incidence in Baden-Württemberg has fallen slightly again.

The value of new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in seven days was on Wednesday (as of 4:00 p.m.) nationwide at 78.9, as the State Health Office in Stuttgart announced on Wednesday.

The previous day the value was 81.8.

Compared to Tuesday, the authority recorded 1,854 new infections with the corona virus.

There are now 288,791 confirmed cases in the southwest.

The number of deaths rose by 65 to 6,864. 252,771 people are considered recovered.

For the first time in months, the seven-day incidence is five districts below the value of 50. In the Rastatt district the value was 43.2, in the Tübingen district 48.1.

The Hohenlohe district (34.6), the Emmendingen district (33.1) and the Baden-Baden district (29.0) even have an incidence of less than 35. The 35 mark was once the value from which in the affected region stricter measures in the fight against the pandemic should apply.

According to data from the Divi intensive care registry, 439 Covid-19 patients in the southwest are currently in intensive care, as the office further reported.

260 of them would be artificially ventilated.

Around 88 percent of the 2,439 operable intensive care beds are occupied.

In Baden-Württemberg, 189,426 people have so far received a first dose of the corona vaccination, and according to the Robert Koch Institute, 38,778 people have also received a second dose.

That is 7961 first vaccinations and 5695 second vaccinations more than the day before.
