“The Lithuanian government at a meeting on Wednesday decided to extend the nationwide quarantine and restrictions on movement between municipalities until February 28,” the government’s website said in a statement.

It is noted that the incidence of coronavirus in the country has decreased after strict quarantine measures were introduced.

It is clarified that the government will consider the possibility of easing quarantine.

Earlier, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania called on the European Union to begin distribution of the coronavirus vaccine produced by AstraZeneca, prior to its official approval by the European Medicines Agency.
