Iran stressed today, Wednesday, the implementation of its nuclear obligations according to conditions, stressing that the new US administration is independent and that the American decision is no longer in the hands of Israel, in response to Tel Aviv's admission to develop plans and scenarios to deal with Iranian attempts to develop a nuclear bomb.

Mahmoud Vaezi, director of the Iranian president's office, said that the Israeli threats are part of a worthless psychological war, and that the Iranian leadership will not hesitate to defend its country.

And he demanded that Israel realize that the time of former US President Donald Trump has passed, and that the American decision is no longer in its hands.

Vaezi added that Israel and Saudi Arabia have fears that the United States will return to the nuclear agreement and understanding with Iran, stressing that the new US administration is "independent, which bothered Israel a lot."

Accurate outline

These comments come shortly after the Israeli Chief of Staff, Aviv Kochavi, revealed that they had prepared an accurate plan to launch a possible military attack on Iran that would thwart any attempts to approach the possession of a nuclear bomb.

In a rare public speech, Kochavi confirmed that he asked his teams to work on developing new plans to address what he described as an Iranian nuclear threat in the event a political decision was taken to target Tehran.

He said - during a conference organized by the Defense Research Institute at Tel Aviv University - that Iran possesses an unauthorized amount of enriched uranium and the centrifuges it has developed, which allows it to accelerate the process of developing a nuclear bomb, stressing his opposition to returning to the Iranian nuclear deal even if amendments are introduced. On him, and demanded to keep the sanctions imposed on Tehran.

"We must continue to exert pressure on Iran, and it cannot possess the capabilities to possess a nuclear bomb," Kochavi added, noting that his army attacked 500 targets in the Middle East in 2020, and said that the Israeli operations in Syria aimed to prevent the continued Iranian presence there.

Returning to the Iranian side and in support of Vaezi’s statements, President Hassan Rouhani said that his country will implement its nuclear obligations as soon as all parties return to implement their obligations and lift the sanctions imposed on Tehran.

At a cabinet meeting, Rouhani added that all countries in the world, except for Israel and two countries in the region, are calling for the United States to return to the nuclear deal.

You will respond forcefully

Iran's representative to the United Nations, Majid Takht Rawanji, said that his country would not hesitate to defend itself, and would respond strongly to any threat to its security.

Rawangi added that Tel Aviv continues what he described as lies and deceit to show that the Iranian nuclear program poses a threat to the region.

The Iranian delegate considered that Israel aims, through threats, to obscure its nuclear weapons and its actions that threaten the stability of the entire region.

He also said that Israel had done everything in its power to destroy the nuclear agreement concluded with his country, and the international community should be wary of that, demanding that it fulfill its responsibility towards the Israeli threats.

Russian position

In the same context, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Iranian Mohammad Javad Zarif stressed the importance of preserving the nuclear agreement.

At the conclusion of bilateral talks between the two ministers in Moscow, Lavrov said that his country is doing its best to find a formula to save the agreement in light of the new US administration's desire to return to it.

For his part, Zarif stressed the need to cancel the US sanctions imposed on his country before its return to implement its obligations within the agreement.

It is noteworthy that Tehran threatened yesterday to suspend the implementation of the Additional Protocol on the IAEA's control of Iran's nuclear activities on February 21 if the rest of the parties do not abide by their obligations.
