- In recent years, several wolves have moved in southern Sweden.
That a territory would ever be formed is not so unexpected, says Linda Andersson, game manager at the County Administrative Board in Jönköping County.
The established area, which has been named Brängenreviret, is the first confirmed in Jönköping County.
Genetically valuable
The wolf pair has been followed through traces in the snow and through DNA analysis.
In this way, the County Administrative Board has been able to establish that they are a pair from Örebro County and that they are two genetically valuable wolves, as they are descended from an immigrant Finnish-Russian wolf.
- If the couple will have puppies, it is too early to say, but we will follow the development in the area, says Linda Andersson.
