Karlsruhe (dpa) - Unknown people set a forest vehicle on fire in Pfinztal-Söllingen near Karlsruhe, causing property damage of around 250,000 euros.

The burning logging vehicle, which had been parked in the forest for a long time, was reported to the fire department early on Wednesday morning, the police said.

According to witnesses, a stranger had already damaged the vehicle's tires the night before.

Vehicles from the same company were also damaged in a forest parking lot along Rittnertstrasse in Durlach that same night.

According to initial investigations, the perpetrator (s) infected one of the front tires using fire accelerators.

The fire spread to the driver's cab and the engine was also affected.

The result is probably a total loss, as the police announced.
