- We are starting to become overcrowded in our preschools and we need more places in childcare.
We also want to "create more air and space to grow", says Kjell Iwemyr (S), chairman of the children and education committee.
The preschool activities will be housed in two of the facility's expansions and a total of eight departments will be able to accommodate 140 children.
Also other renovations
The municipality also writes in the press release that several other preschools in the municipality are older and have a need for renovation in the coming years, so the upcoming preschool will be needed as a buffer when these renovations take place.
The decision has now been made in the relevant committees and the municipal board.
Inauguration is expected in the summer of 2022.
