British Foreign Office announces support for START extension

“We welcome the US proposal to extend the new START treaty with Russia.

The Treaty has made an important contribution to strategic stability, transparency and confidence-building.

We will support the agreement and the extension of its reliable verification mechanism, ”TASS reports.

Earlier, the Kremlin reported that Putin had a telephone conversation with US President Joe Biden, during which the parties expressed satisfaction with the fact that both countries exchanged notes on reaching an agreement to extend the START treaty.

Later, Putin submitted to the State Duma a bill on the ratification of the agreement on the extension of the START Treaty.
