January 27, 2021 The AstraZeneca plant in Wrexham, Wales, where the Covid-19 vaccine is manufactured, has been evacuated following the delivery of a suspicious package.

This was announced by the Indian company Wockhardt, which owns the factory.

The police are and the bomb squads are on the spot.

The plant produces 300 million doses per year.



Security forces have cordoned off the area and there are no reports of injuries.

To report the circumstance of the discovery of a suspicious package was the company, which warned the authorities "On the advice of experts we have partially evacuated the plant, while an investigation is underway", said the pharmaceutical company in a statement quoted by the British media.

The BBC also reported that the police sent a team of bomb squads to the scene.
