The

National Association of Victims and People Affected by Coronavirus (Anvac)

, a group close to Vox, has filed a criminal complaint against the former Minister of Health

Salvador Illa

and the director of the Center for the Coordination of Health Alerts and Emergencies,

Fernando Simón

, for crimes of reckless homicide and injury, prevarication and against workers for their management of the Covid-19 pandemic.

This is the first criminal action filed against Illa after his dismissal from office was published this Wednesday in the

Official State Gazette (BOE)

.

He already presented another one earlier in his day that was rejected.

The National Association of Victims and People Affected by Coronavirus is a collective that is in the orbit of Vox.

In fact, its president,

Jaime Sánchez Bermúdez

, is a recognized member of the party in Cantabria and has been part of the electoral lists of the formation.

Anvac has been taking different actions for a long time to denounce the government's health management during the pandemic.

Some have been very high-profile, such as the placement of more than 50,000 Spanish flags, one for each deceased person, in cities such as Madrid, Valencia or Murcia.

Now, and in line with what the Vox leaders defend, Anvac goes to court to demand criminal responsibility from the managers of the pandemic, according to Europa Press.

The association's lawyer,

Pedro Tabares

, has argued that he does so on behalf of several dozen families who have been affected, in his opinion, by mismanagement in the decisions taken by the Ministry of Health.

In the complaint, filed in a Madrid court, urgent steps are requested to secure the documentation in the Ministry of Health, especially communications between Illa and other ministerial officials, such as the Secretary of State for Health and general directors, whose Appearance is also requested to be questioned. "At the moment, we want this documentation to be kept until the court considers it pertinent to claim it," he said.

The complaint, centered on the management of the Ministry, seeks to connect the decisions of those responsible with what has been suffered by specific people, whose experience is what has been contributed to the complaint.

However, they hope to expand membership as Anvac says it has about 3,500 associates.

The process, which requires a lot of documentation, is slow as recognized by the lawyer.

For his part, Jaime Sánchez, president of Anvac, has signaled at the door of the investigating courts that "today is the day to take stock and render accounts to the victims."

He understands that justice has to be done "because irresponsible management has been committed from start to finish."

Accompanied by a representation of relatives of victims of the coronavirus, Sánchez added that "unfortunately deaths continue to occur, with the unpleasant certainty that today, at this time, more lives are being consumed, due to the incorrect management of the pandemic , which since its inception, due to its indecisions and lack of technical criteria, have caused the thousands of deaths that we have today.
