The finish of the Vendée Globe is very close and Charlie Dalin (Apivia) further increased his lead on Tuesday morning, being 520.4 nautical miles (964 km) from Les Sables d'Olonne.

At 5:00 a.m. (04:00 GMT) Tuesday, his pursuers Louis Burton (Bureau Vallée 2) and the German Boris Herrmann (Seaexplorer-Yacht Club de Monaco) are sailing respectively 67.7 miles (125 km) and 74.3 miles ( 138 km) from the first.

In the final sprint for the victory of the round the world race alone and non-stop, Thomas Rettant (LinkedOut) retains 4th place but at 310.4 miles.

In 5th position, Yannick Bestaven (Maître Coq IV) at 367.7 miles.

But the hourly compensations that will be applied at the finish can offer the victory to Herrmann and Bestaven without even having to cross the line first.
