Potsdam (dpa / bb) - In view of the difficulties in making appointments for the corona vaccination centers, the opposition left faction in the Brandenburg state parliament has called on Health Minister Ursula Nonnemacher (Greens) to act.

"The minister is not to blame for the fact that there are too few vaccine doses," said parliamentary group leader Sebastian Walter on Tuesday.

"But she has the responsibility for organization and communication."

The appointments can only be booked in Brandenburg via the hotline 116117, which was often overloaded.

In addition, there had been confusion among those affected last week because vaccination appointments had been canceled without prior telephone notification by email due to the delivery delays for the vaccines.

Around 9,000 previously agreed appointments for first vaccinations had to be postponed to an unknown time.

"9,000 vaccination cancellations are 9,000 hopes destroyed," warned Walter.

The left-wing politician demanded that the risk groups should first be invited to vaccination appointments in writing, following the example in Berlin - so that those affected would not have to try to find appointments themselves “in a greyhound race”.

In addition, the transport to the vaccination centers must be organized and financed.

In addition, it should be checked how the vaccinations can be carried out in family doctor's practices as soon as possible, Walter demanded.
