In recent years, Yunnan Province has taken the long system of rivers (lakes) as a starting point to vigorously promote the management of the nine plateau lake basin systems, and the water quality of each lake has been improved significantly.

Among them, Dianchi Lake has reached Class IV water quality for three consecutive years.
