Berlin (dpa / bb) - The values for the Berlin Corona situation are improving, but are still clearly in the red.

On Tuesday, the so-called 7-day incidence - i.e. the number of infections per 100,000 inhabitants within a week - was 106.8.

This emerges from the status report of the health administration.

On Monday this value was 108.4.

The target in Germany is a value of less than 50 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants in 7 days.

The corona traffic light continues to show red for the 7-day incidence - as is the case when the intensive care beds are occupied by Covid 19 patients.

Here the rate remains unchanged at 30.5 percent.

The traffic light is still green for the reproduction number (R value).

The R value stood at 0.91 on Tuesday - after 1.04 the previous day.

It describes how many people an infected person infects on average.

According to experts, in order to slow the pandemic, this value must be significantly less than 1.

The health administration reported 433 further corona infections for Tuesday, and there were 369 new infections on Monday.

A total of 117 557 infections with the corona virus have been reported in Berlin so far, 103 004 people are considered to have recovered.

The number of deaths related to the virus rose to 2101 - 34 more than the previous day.
