Mannheim (dpa / lsw) - The communication of the rescue services in the Rhine-Neckar region has been disrupted since Monday evening.

The number 19222 for the exchange of emergency services was affected from around 9 p.m., as a spokesman for Deutsche Telekom said on Tuesday.

The number is also used occasionally by citizens.

In the early morning, the problem was resolved.

A spokesman for the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of the Interior confirmed the disruption.

The emergency numbers 110 and 112 were not affected.

According to Telekom, the fixed network in the region was not affected either.

The cause of the failure, according to a spokesman for Telekom and Vodafone jointly operated platform for the number 19222, was initially unclear.

There were also disruptions in the communication of emergency services in other regions of Germany.
