Wiesbaden (dpa / lhe) - In order to support Hessian retirement and nursing homes with the corona tests, Bundeswehr soldiers will be trained by the German Red Cross from this week.

The State Association of Hesse is preparing for the short-term training of several hundred Bundeswehr forces and volunteers, said a DRK spokeswoman in Wiesbaden on Tuesday.

The soldiers are supposed to support the homes with the corona rapid tests for nursing staff and visitors.

Visitors are only allowed to enter retirement and nursing homes if they can present a current negative corona test.

The staff must be tested at least twice a week and when starting work after an absence of more than three days.
