Cologne / Stuttgart (dpa / lsw) - In a nationwide raid against child pornography, the police searched seven objects in Baden-Württemberg.

Around 40 emergency services were involved, said a spokesman for the Interior Ministry, citing the Cologne police in charge.

The action in ten federal states was directed against 65 suspects - including two women.

How many of them come from the southwest was initially unclear.

According to the information, the proceedings arose from the investigations into the Bergisch Gladbach child abuse complex.

The suspects are accused of possessing and distributing child pornographic content.

There is no evidence that active abusers are among them, and there have been no arrest warrants.

Interior Minister Thomas Strobl assured the investigators on Tuesday that they would support the Baden-Württemberg authorities.

"To do violence or even sexual violence to a child is one of the most horrific and disgusting things you can imagine," said the CDU politician according to a statement.

"We must do everything in our power to get those who exploit this defenselessness and innocence through sexual violence out of the anonymity of the Internet and into the focus of the investigative authorities."
