When regime critic Alexei Navalny last week shared a clip of a, to say the least, luxurious shack by the Black Sea in southern Russia, it took off immediately.
In less than a week, the clip has been played 86 million times on Youtube.
The reason for the attention is that, according to Navalny, the property belongs to President Putin, who is said to have had it built in secret.
But Putin himself now denies that the house is his.
- It does not belong to me or any of my family members, he says in a video conversation with students.
